Cron Diet

Redden's Post:   Since I had no intention of going to Mexico or cruising the internet for some miracle cure, I wanted to find something that would increase my odds of surviving long enough to at least enjoy some of my retirement. The only thing I could find with research to back it up with Dr. Walford’s Calorie Restriction diet.  CRON (Calorie Restriction with Optimal Nutrients).
Dr. Walford is a longevity researcher at UCLA.  He’s published several books and has reams of research.  Check your bookstore or local library for some of his titles.
As he would say, no one else has a 45-month-old mouse. My wife and I are on this diet.   We have been vegan for 3 years prior to starting the CRON diet, and continue to be vegan.

The idea is to eat less, while still getting all the nutrients you would need.  We’ve both lost weight. We’re trying to do it slowly, but mine seems a little more rapid than I would’ve liked.  I’ve gone from 186 pounds to my current weight of 153. This is the most effective thing I can do. I have not heard of anyone else with kidney cancer who has tried this.  If you have and your in a similar situation please contact me.
I have been vegan for 3 years now (2 years after original diagnosis) and think of myself as eating pretty healthy.  Then why the reoccurence of mets?  Could be many different reasons. However, I believe now that diet and stress are big factors in cancer and mets.
Cancer patients have special nutritional needs and issues related to eating.  I think nutrition plays a big part in not only cancer to begin with but, even if you change your eating habits after a cancer diagnosis it can still be a factor in preventing reoccurence.
I believe calorie restriction as well as eating organic as much as possible.  Just because your vegan does not mean you are eating optimal nutrition wise.  There are a lot of vegan foods that have a lot of calories.
